I began my journey at Acorn as a substitute during the 2022–2023 school year and transitioned into the role of Assistant Teacher in a Primary classroom the following year. During that time, I had the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the Montessori environment, gaining a deep understanding of the pedagogy, classroom practices, and the purposeful design of the materials. Witnessing how these elements support the development of the whole child during such a formative stage of life was incredibly impactful and ultimately inspired me to pursue my Primary certification.
I was awarded my AMS Early Childhood credential after successfully completing all requirements through Princeton Center for Teacher Education in June 2025. This program is affiliated with the American Montessori Society and accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
What drew me most to Montessori education is its deep respect for the child as an individual who is capable, curious, and intrinsically motivated to learn. I am continually inspired by the way the Montessori approach nurtures independence, concentration, and a lifelong love of learning through meaningful, hands-on experiences. As I return to Acorn, I am filled with gratitude and excitement to continue growing within a loving community. To return to Acorn feels like coming home to a place where I can guide, support, and celebrate each child’s unique journey while continuing to grow as a Montessori educator myself.
