Cheryl Turner
Primary Head Teacher - Black Oak
Originally from the UK, I have lived in the United States for over 30 years. My interest in Montessori education began more than 20 years ago when my four sons attended a Montessori primary program. I completed my training at PCTE and have been an AMS Lead Teacher for over 12 years. In the classroom, I strive to create a supportive and flexible environment where each child can grow in confidence and achieve success. Outside of school, I value health and wellness and enjoy rebounding for exercise. I also volunteer with the Knitted Knocker Foundation, crocheting soft prosthetics for women recovering from breast cancer. My favorite Dr. Montessori quote is, "The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one’s self."
