Acorn's 2018 Annual SPRING Gala
When: April 14, 2018
Did you know?
What is the money raised at the gala used for? Here are a few things:
- Student programs and Montessori materials
- Professional development for our wonderful teachers
- Enhancing art and music programs
- Maintaining buildings, grounds and equipment
Classroom Basket Donations:
As in the past, the families of each classroom have been asked to donate a basket that will be raffled off as part of the Tricky Tray at the upcoming Acorn Gala.. The theme for the Gala this year is "Around the World." Listed below is each classroom's unique basket theme. A donation drop box will be located by each classroom. If you'd prefer to make a monetary donation instead, please give it to your homeroom parents. Thanks for helping make these baskets amazing!
Black Oak: "What's News" (recently released children's books as well as stationary and other cute writing things)
Toddler: Italy theme (wine, a gift card to an Italian restaurant, olive oil, basil seeds, wooden spoon, linen dishtowel, a cheese grater)
Upper Elementary: Games and stories from around the world
Lower Elementary: Food from around the world
Red Oak: Map/globe/social studies themed things
Chinquapin Oak: Spain
In addition to seeking donations from local businesses, we also have families who create a basket for the Silent Auction, or donate an item or two that we can use to create another basket. It is so much fun to see what our different Acorn families put together to share with everyone.
If you have an item you would like to donate, or if you would like to make a basket from your family, we would love to include your donation! Ideas in the past have included gift cards, private dance lessons, children's art supplies, books, wine and cheese baskets and more. Some families have even chosen to donate their vacation home for a week. Any idea is a great one!
Below is a link to the form to complete for your basket or item for donation (the form is also attached). If you know of someone who is not a part of our community but who might like to donate, please do not hesitate to pass the form along.
