For Parents
Parent Workshops
Partnership is a cornerstone to the Acorn philosophy and mission.
As such, we consider Parent Education an important component to the
fulfillment of our commitment to partnership. Our Parent Education
Program has many facets; to support your understanding of the
Montessori Philosophy, to support your understanding of child
development, to support the common language we speak to children
at home and at school so as to create the optimum learning environment
for your children and to support you as a parent in creating the home
atmosphere you desire. In keeping these goals in mind, we have the
following Parent Education Programs scheduled for the 2007-2008
school year:
Redirecting Children's Behavior is held for sessions throughout the year
RCB honors each child as a
unique individual while also recognizing the adult’s need to provide discipline to each child that is effective yet
never diminishes the child’s self-esteem or confidence. Our entire staff has been trained in this philosophy. To create
a partnership in the raising and educating of your child, it is important that we speak the “same language”.
