Events: The Halloween Fun Fair
Mark your calendars! This is not an event to be missed!
It's that time of year again! The Halloween Fun Fair is fast approaching - Sunday, October 23 from 12:30 to 4:00pm. This old fashioned country fair is always a big hit with the Acorn students and the community.
Spread the Word! Our Fun Fair is open to the public. Bring your family and make it an event everyone will remember!

- Haunted House & Haunted Forest
- Bake Sale, Pie Contest and Chili Contest
- Pony Rides
- Petting Zoo
Of course, all the old favorites will be there too, including face painting, "bite-a-donut", crafts and cotton candy!
We are still in need of volunteers to help staff the activities and events! Volunteers will not have to work the entire fair - we are hoping to offer blocks of time instead of the entire day. Please contact Alyson if you are willing to give a couple of hours at an activity or event on Fair Day!
Scarecrows - Each classroom will provide their own decorated scarecrow to be displayed at the fair. Look for sign-up sheets outside the classrooms asking for items that can be used for the scarecrow, or contact your classmoms
Recipe Contests - Again this year we are looking for competitive chefs for the pie and chili contests. Thank you to the cooks who have already signed up and those of you who have not, please send a note in your folder. All entries will be for sale after the judging.
Pumpkin Carving Contest - Acorn friends and family are invited for an evening of fun and carving, cider and cookies on friday, October 21st. Each family should bring their pumpkins to carve, as well as any patterns and tools necessary. Carved pumpkins may also be left at school and entered in the Jack-o-lantern contest to be held in conjuction with the Halloween Fun Fair on Sunday, October 3rd.
Helpers Needed!! - We need dome strong parents on Saturday morning (10/22) and Sunday morning (10/23) to help with the set up of the fair and after the fair to take everything down. If you can spare a couple of hours, please let us know. Any questions, Please contact Alyson
