The Acorn Fund
Acorn Montessori School’s annual fund
is now known as The Acorn Fund!
There are many benefits to your child that The Acorn Fund
covers.
This annual fund is designed to provide monies for
educational
enhancements that tuition alone does not cover. It makes many tangible
benefits available to your child, such as:
- Excellent teacher-to-child ratios
- Professional development opportunities and competitive
compensation for faculty and staff
- Vital and inspiring academic programs and program enhancements
- Upkeep of our beautiful grounds and facilities
Why doesn’t Acorn increase tuition to cover all expenses?
There are many reasons:
- Independent, private schools have a long tradition of asking
constituents to
contribute over and above the cost of tuition. In
fact, most rely on the generosity
of their constituents. Bridging the gap between tuition and the actual cost of education
with The
Acorn Fund provides us with opportunities to communicate and build
relationships with our Acorn community. These bonds can last long after your
child has left Acorn and can continue to be a
meaningful partnership over time.
- Augmenting tuition with your gift to The Acorn Fund allows the school to keep tuition
down as much as practically possible create a diverse and inclusive community.
- Contributions are tax deductible, whereas tuition payments are not.
When can we expect to be asked for a contribution to The Acorn Fund?
In mid-September, you will receive more detailed information about The Acorn Fund,
describing in greater detail how
contributions are used to augment your child’s educational
experience at Acorn. Committed volunteer parents will contact you at that time to encourage
you to join them in support of
The Acorn Fund. These volunteer parents are critical to the
success of this effort and can be a great resource in helping
you to understand and make
decisions about giving. All gifts are tax deductible, and can be made before the end of
the current
calendar year, or before the end of Acorn’s fiscal year (June 30th).
