Beverly Smith joined the Acorn Montessori School team in July 2012. She moved here from Northwest Connecticut, where she worked at Washington Montessori School for twenty years (both of her children attended there through eighth grade). She started her career at WMS as a Middle School teacher and ten years later entered administration. She has a BS in Elementary Education, and an MA in Counseling. She holds a Connecticut Public School Educator certificate, an AMS (American Montessori Society) Middle School credential and an AMS Management credential. She is also Associate Coordinator of the Course for Montessori School Management at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education in New York.
From the minute Beverly walked onto the Acorn grounds, she knew it was a special place. The school’s beauty, and the warmth of the people she met during her visits, supported her initial impression. She has expressed time and again how thrilled she is to join the community.
During Beverly’s free time, she likes to hike with her dog Priscilla, explore cities and parks, and read all kinds of books.
